this was years ago when the cops found this place. I don't think the story ever got out how they find it. So most likely someone they sold to gave them up.

ReplyDeleteFor anyone wondering, they were caught because of electricity.
ReplyDeleteThey knew that setting up a legitimate electrical account would be quite suspicious since their power needs were well above what the house itself would need.
So they just jacked into the main line and siphoned power off. Finally, the power company tracked down where the splice was, figured out the house and called the cops.
All because of electricity.
I would have liked to see the filter of air weather they were charcoaled filtered or fabric which makes a difference to detect odor also I saw no ventilation how were these buds packed tight without circulation of air
ReplyDeleteThey got caught stealing power from the power company. Thats how they got caught. If the power company had not been tracking down where they were loosing power they would probably still be growing wonderful weed:)

ReplyDeleteThey are usually caught by just working with electric companies and checking rural dwellings with huge increases in consumption.
ReplyDeleteAnother way they catch them is by planes with thermal imagining. Apparently the grow-ups show up nice on flybys.
That's why you must use LED bulbs for indoor, kids.

This is true, and they did get busted. They got caught because they were stealing electricty to power the operation.
ReplyDeleteThe power company detected the drain on the network and sent techs out to investigate. Where they discovered that someone had spliced into the power lines and they called the police.

This was a real pot growing operation in Hartsville TN. Smallest county in the state (Trousdale County)

Oddly enough the house was burned AFTER the bust.
It was a multi million dollar operation.
I didn't know them but I do live in the area.
Probably busted do to electricity consumption. Lots of lights down there and cops look out for increased electrical output. If it doesn't match house size average with electronics then it's investigated. Considering that the house looks like it's all alone they could have used solar power and simply allowed it to power the lights during the day and left them off at night. Would have taken longer to grow but less chance to get caught.
