Breaking Bad...represented!
ReplyDeleteRepresented twice!!
ReplyDeleteBetter Call Saul! :)
hey assholes... call it tv and MOVIE university. correct me if im wrong, but indiana jones never had a tv series starring harrison ford. OK?????
ReplyDeleteDo you know that movies are not TV?
ReplyDeleteWow, a lot of Arrested Development in there....which cracked me up every time I saw them. Pop-pop as Business Ethics is fucking great!
ReplyDeletejesus how many from arrested development? Gotta love it.
ReplyDeleteI'm really happy that the person who made this likes Arrested Development...
ReplyDeleteShowing some love for Arrested Development
ReplyDelete5 women? that's it?
ReplyDeletethe guys name from inglourious basterds is Hans Landen
ReplyDeleteFail detected. Some TV University instructors are real people, some are movie characters, and some are tv characters. What a mess.
ReplyDeleteWhere do I fill out an application...??
ReplyDeleteJoan Holloway (Mad Men): Clerical Administration
ReplyDeleteTHAT ISN'T JOAN HOLLOWAY!! IT'S CHRISTINA HENDRICKS!
Why is actuarial science under engineering? And what does Anton Chigurh have to do with it? Fail.
ReplyDeleteGood until Jeremy Clarkson was on it, then it was AMAZING!!!
ReplyDeletethe characters name for the world languages role is Colonel Hans Landa, but this would be an amazing university to go to =]
ReplyDeleteTV University?
ReplyDeleteThis is more like Movie university.
That's not Daniel Jackson. It's Cameron Mitchell.
ReplyDeleteDavid Ducovny will be busy with 2 courses...
ReplyDeleteIf you try and understand people through posts, then it seems no one cares about the point of what theyre reading, only caring about how to show how smart they are by figuring out the flaws...this is supposed to be entertaining i thought, how damn important is the title? can't you just like something cause it's funny?I'd rather read Bob Loblaw's law blog
ReplyDeleteDid anyone else notice Dr. Strangelove in fact teaches two subjects? Nuclear Engineering and Political Science? He is the only multi-department faculty.
ReplyDeleteThis thing is amazing, would have like to see more of the Doctor though
funny... though it's said that even tv/movie university is still a (white) boys' club...
ReplyDeletereally? OJ for football?
ReplyDeleteYou have mixed a few real people in there.
ReplyDeleteDr. Stranglove may be the only multi-department faculty character, but two of David Duchovny's characters are listed (Para-Psychology and Womens Studies).
ReplyDeleteAlso, yes, there were a few flaws, but it's still entertaining. A cleaned up version 1.1 would be better, but this is still good.
Why is Chuck a bad choice?
ReplyDeleteTo everyone complaining about the TV/Movie characters...Other then the theater....where do you watch movies? On your TV!! So shut the hell up! Go find problems with the real world instead of the internet and get a life folks.
ReplyDeleteArmond White isn't a character. At least OJ was in Roots. White is totally out of place on this list.
ReplyDeleteHarrison Ford had a guest part on one episode of the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, so technically you could call Indy a tv character as well.
ReplyDeletewhy is omar a dean?
ReplyDeletethis is great! it included Fox Mulder and Richard from Lost! i couldnt be more pleased!
ReplyDeleteDr Strangelove for Nuclear Physics, however the picture of the head of the Political Science Department is the President (played by the same actor).
ReplyDeleteK Emilio was definitely a wrestler in The Breakfast Club. Fail.
ReplyDeleteHey nitpickers;
ReplyDeleteThis chart is from the 4chan board /tv/ - Television and Movies. The fail belongs to the blog for presenting it as "TV University" as opposed to "/tv/ University," not the people who made this. And for the record, this was made by the community, not one guy.
That version of Emilio is from the Mighty Ducks movie series.
ReplyDeleteSure can tell white males made this...
ReplyDeleteWhy not Noah Wyle as Flynn Carsen in 'The Librarian' as the librarian???
ReplyDeleteAlso lol 4chan.
The wactor that played the fourth Doctor is Tom Baker
ReplyDeleteWHAT ABOUT CHCUK NORRIS FOR MATIAL ARTS?!??!?!?
ReplyDeletewhat different does it make what color the people that made it were ? you sound a bit racist to me.
ReplyDeleteVery few women. Oh yes, basement dwelling 4chan nerds hate women.
ReplyDeleteforensics is placed wrong. Its a Science, it doesn't belong under law.
ReplyDeleteI'm registering for Bird Law with Charlie Kelly as we speak
ReplyDeleteFunny list! However, it's pretty male heavy; maybe a bit of variety next time?
ReplyDeleteHeh this is brilliant.
ReplyDeleteDon't get why people are making such a big deal about the name. yeah it's not right, there are movie characters and a few real life people in there.
Why get so worked up about it though?
You should have had Abby from NCIS as the forensics professor rather than Dexter.
ReplyDeleteIt's a good list, people are too nit picky over the real and movie personalities placed in it. The author chose the best candidates regardless of their fictional or real statuses...
ReplyDeleteThe only complaint I have is to fix the name listings. For instance, list Charlie Kelly as being from 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia', and Colonel Hans Landen from 'Inglorious Basterds' instead of just the movie title, etc.
No one seems to understand that /tv/ is the name of the place where the list originated. Lol @ everyone complaining about movie characters.
ReplyDeleteQuit bitching about there being movie characters on there. It's /tv/ not TV. You just don't understand the reference.
ReplyDeleteI do want to nitpick and say that Tony Stark is way more of an electrical engineer than a mechanical engineer. I'll have to go tell that to /tv/.
Screw LOST, the Theoretical Physicist should have been Dr. Sheldon Cooper.
ReplyDeleteI don't watch The Big Bang Theory, but I'm pretty sure Sheldon Cooper never successfully time-travelled...
ReplyDeleteAlso, The Tams! Excellent!
id take a bird law class from charlie kelly any day
ReplyDeleteto everyone commenting on why there is film characters on this list. It is because /tv/ doesnt mean just television. it represents the board television and film found on 4chan.
ReplyDeleteAlways Sunny! Best University ever.
ReplyDeleteI have only one problem:
ReplyDelete93 people. And only 5 women!!!!!!!!
Really? U think that's ok? I mean I'm not a feminist, or anything, but it's not a good representation.
good list all you negative people suck
ReplyDeleteWow, where do I sign up for White Men's University?
ReplyDeleteTo tell you the truth, I had no idea who most of these people were.
ReplyDeleteWhere is Jack McCoy in the law department
ReplyDeletedid i just miss Chuck Norris or is this thing just completely wrong?
ReplyDeleteFirefly for the win
ReplyDeleteMmmm... I'd take a class from Tony Stark anyday.
ReplyDeleteFour Faculty from Arrested Development and Charlie Kelly! WIN University.
ReplyDeletedont they show movies on TV? just sayin. and yeeees i was hoping youd put the Janitor from scrubs as the janitor :3
ReplyDeleteI'd have to become a lawyer if I went here... Bird law!! Also Chareth Cutestory would have been acceptable as Maritime Law professor.
ReplyDeleteAlso African-American History is GOLDEN
ReplyDeletelove this list.... quite a few men though..
ReplyDeletehow could Quentin Tarantino not be in the film section?
ReplyDeleteI'm registering for Bird Law with Charlie Kelly as we speak
ReplyDeleteMad my day rofl
Adrian Veidt from Watchmen should be Marketing professor.
ReplyDeleteWhy the Hell is Emilio Esteves listed as Hockey? He was a wrestler in The Breakfast Club.
ReplyDeleteEmilio Esteves was Coach Bombay in the Mighty Ducks, friend.
ReplyDeleteEmilio Estevez was Coach Bombay in The Mighty Ducks, friend.
ReplyDeleteSummer Glau should be the dance instructor, not "River Tam". The pic is of Summer anyways, River never wore that.
ReplyDeleteSummer Glau is Queen of /tv/(/b/ has Boxxy, /x/ has Alison Harvard aka Creepy Chan). The guy who posted the chart is just a newfriend. I think he stopped by /tv/ from /co/ and /tv/s chart ended up being the best on 4chan...
ReplyDeleteHmmm... OJ Simpson... Dishonorable mentions have their place i guess.
ReplyDeleteRemember when /tv/ was good?
ReplyDeletehas anyone wondered why there are only four or five women on this list?
ReplyDeleteAnd also the Charlie Kelly !! :D
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love all of the Arrested Development in there! And Cartman and the Janitor. This is great. And also House and Forrest Gump. This is amazzinng!!
ReplyDeleteBOB ROSS
ReplyDeleteBOB ROSS
BOB ROSS
BOB ROSS
where are the women...?
ReplyDeletemr plumber rochdale
ReplyDeleteha ha ha greta stuff http://www.mrplumberonline.com
ReplyDeleteHey I would take a class from Chuck. GO Chuck!!!
ReplyDeleteyesss <3 fireflyyy!
ReplyDeleteFirefly!
ReplyDelete...I would get sick EVERY DAY. =)
I think I love you
ReplyDeleteWhich of the4 dudes do you love?
ReplyDeleteThere's no chemical engineering.
ReplyDeleteWHERE IS CHUCK NORRIS?...NUFF SAID
ReplyDeleteNancy Botwin (Weeds) for Botany class?
ReplyDeleteI think you have forgotten electrical engineering. Tony Stark is probably more representative of that than mechanical, considering all the electrical stuff he designed. But if you disagree I guess Dilbert would be an adequate replacement.
ReplyDeletewhat about Austin Powers for Women Studies???
ReplyDeleteobviously none of you know what /tv/ is. It is a forum for tv AND movies. faggots.
ReplyDeleteyour website is so slow it makes me want to puke
ReplyDeleteBrilliant.
ReplyDeleteGreat list, but noticing lots and lots and lots and lots of white men here. Just sayin'.
ReplyDeletewhere are the women? just 5? wheres the equality? is this 1950?
ReplyDeleteI would love to study with John Williams.
ReplyDeleteSo sad there aren't more women, as some have noted
ReplyDeletealso - under Humanities you should have Tobias for Gender Studies ;)
love that there are firefly characters as well as others from great shows - you have excellent taste
This is great. But I'd like to know why the overwhelming majority of the teachers are male...
ReplyDeleteBecause the purpose of this is humor, and women are not humorous, women are not largely represented here.
ReplyDeleteBecause the purpose of this is humor, and women are not humorous, women are not heavily represented here.
ReplyDeleteHello Sheldon Cooper (The Big Bang Theory) for Theoretical Physics? that's just a given.
ReplyDeleteAnd Chuck Bartowski is a great choice for computer science!
To the people screaming "Movies aren't tv!"
ReplyDeleteThis list came from 4chan. The board /tv/ is the tv and movies board, just like /b/ is the random board. It doesn't literally mean just tv.
I don't know why I even bother, but the other 3 were right. this was made by /tv/, it's /tv/ university. There's a mix of actors, tv characters, and film characters because EVERY SINGLE ONE IS AN INSIDE JOKE. It's made with /tv/'s favorite actor/characters, and with 4chan in mind. 4 dudes really needs to NOT grab shit off imgboards for their mediocre site
ReplyDeleteSome people in my ideal university:
ReplyDeleteCharlie Epps (Numbers) - Math
Walter Bishop (Fringe) - Biochemistry
Samantha Carter (Stargate Sg-1) - Astrophysics & Cosmology
Topher (Dollhouse) - Neuroscience
"Oh yes, basement dwelling 4chan nerds hate women." -- Explains why Samantha Jones/Carrie Bradshaw isn't heading a Female Sexuality course.
ReplyDeleteAnd why internet gods why isn't there a single SNL character? Mary Katherine Gallagher for Dramatic Arts? MacGruber instead of Gyver for PracEng?
Also, Leslie Knope for Local Govt. Management, & Liz Lemon for TV Production.
Agree with Nancy Botwin for Botany. & will major in Af-Am Studies, f'sure.
Clay Davies!?!?
ReplyDeleteSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETTT!
For those of you commenting that they're including actors and movie characters when it says 'tv,' it actually says '/tv/.'
ReplyDeleteIt's from the 4chan board for TV and movies, /tv/.
So actors are appropriate as well as movie characters, not just TV ones.
I'd like to enroll now, please!!
ReplyDelete"The media’s voice of authority is most often that of a middle-aged, professional, white male. These men dominate the opinion-shaping forums of talk radio, newspaper journalism, and television news and commentary, and male voices are those most commonly heard in television and radio commercials."
ReplyDeletewhen you look around and the people around you look like you, it is not a mistake. It is racism and sexism.
THE WIRE represent
ReplyDeletei died at bird law
ReplyDeleteRichard as the student adviser, GREAT!!!!
ReplyDeleteTo everyone complaining about the lack of women, how about listing some examples?who should be in which departments, and would they do a better job than the person already teaching the course?
ReplyDeleteAlso in favor of Columbo heading Criminology and Jack McCoy as Dean of Law
this is a really poorly executed list. it's really sad when someone spends a long time on something stupid and in the end it's EVEN MORE POINTLESS than when they started.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to take a class with GOB and Franklin on how it ain't easy being white or brown!
ReplyDeleteIt's called /tv/ university. /tv/ is a board on 4chan.org dedicated to tv AND movies. Clearly, these images originated on that imageboard.
ReplyDeleteHow is Bill Nye Not Dean of Science?!
ReplyDeleteAdmin?! Disgraceful.
need more women on the list
ReplyDeleteWhere are all the women?
ReplyDeleteHall monitor should actually be Spongebob... Just throwing that out there.
ReplyDeleteI don't know who the head of the law dept. is (well, I can say that about several of these folks, to be honest), but seriously, Atticus Finch should be dept. head, and you need Jack McCoy as Criminology Prof, there simply IS no one better. Otherwise, most entertaining!
ReplyDeleteNo Judge Dredd for LAW?!?!
ReplyDeleteHE THE LAAAAWWWW!
The dean should be chuck norris
ReplyDeleteMurphy Brown for journalism...seems obvious enough.
ReplyDeleteSeriously? Armond White?
ReplyDeleteThis really needs an update..
ReplyDeletekenny "fuckin" powers
ReplyDelete
